Michael Adams gives keynote address at Environics Analytics 7th Annual User Conference

On November 6, Environics Institute President and Founder Michael Adams gave the keynote address at the 7th Annual Environics Analytics User Conference in Toronto. Michael’s talk, before a packed house of 400, focused on evolving social values in Canada and the USA.

In 2003, Michael Adams published the Canadian bestseller Fire and Ice in which he used social values research to explode the myth that Canadians and Americans are gradually becoming alike. A decade later, he examines how those values are evolving in a time when Democrat Barack Obama occupies the White House and Conservative Stephen Harper is firmly ensconced in Sussex Drive.

Drawing on the latest social values research—based on the annual study he initiated 35 years ago—Michael reveals the surprising shifts that help explain recent social and political events. One of Canada’s preeminent public opinion researchers and authors, Adams offers a lively portrait of both countries, reflecting where they’ve been, where they are and where they’re headed.
